Explore a tree house, peek inside a Gnome's Home, or build a fort out of
tree branches at the award-winning Bay Area Discovery Museum in San Francisco.
Tucked in a cove
below the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, this San Francisco children's museum is chock-full of activities for wee ones. Here,
your child can explore roughly 2 1/2 acres of creative centers, from
Lookout Cove's impressive playground, to the unique activities in
Discovery Hall. When it comes time for lunch, grab a bite at
Cafe Discovery,
which is run by acclaimed chefs Frank Klein and Chad Newton. The menu
includes organic, local cuisine such as line-caught tuna salad
sandwiches, whole-wheat macaroni and cheese, and homemade soups and
salads.
Veronica's Tips: The museum is free on the first Wednesday of each month. Several
discounts are also available on their website.
