How many calories can you burn at Disneyland? Read on.

Want to burn some calories as you tour Disneyland and California Adventure?  Most visitors walk an average of 8-14 miles during a typical trip to Disneyland, and up to 20 miles per day if you do some park-hopping! Today, I'm sharing my top tips for staying healthy and fit during a trip to Disneyland.

What You'll Burn
• For every hour you walk around the park, you burn 183-346 calories. The distance between Mickey's Fun Wheel in California Adventure and Gadget's Go-Coaster in Toontown is 1 mile.

Standing burns roughly 70-80 calories every hour.

• Pushing your child in a stroller? That burns roughly 192 calories per hour.

Disneyland Walking Routes
To maximize your mileage in Disneyland Resort, following is a 1 1/2-mile course through the park. To make it an even 3 miles, just track back the way you came. For more Disneyland courses, view the Disneyland 5K Route Map or check out my 5-mile and  1 1/2-mile Disneyland walks on the free iPhone app iMapMyRun.

#1: Start in Main Street USA
#2: Turn right into Tomorrowland
#3: Turn left past Finding Nemo toward it's a small world
#4: Turn left into Toontown and walk to the end.
#5: Leave Toontown and track back into Fantasyland
#6: Walk past Village Haus and head into Frontierland
#7: Make a left and walk past the shooting gallery
#8: Turn right at the bathrooms and head into Adventureland
#9: Walk past Tarzan's Treehouse, through New Orleans Square and up into Critter Country
#10: Treat yourself to a water and snack at Critter Country Fruit Cart, or track back for a longer course.

Healthy Eating
Both Disneyland and California Adventure have dozens of fruit stands set up in most of the lands. They sell everything from mango slices, whole fruit and veggie trays to dill pickles and trail mix. A few examples include Toon Up Treats, Fairfax Market and the Main Street Fruit Cart. Most restaurants offer at least one healthy salad or meal. If you're getting a salad, just ask for the dressing on the side. Another good option is the Kid's Power Pack, which comes with string cheese, nonfat yogurt, sliced apples and whole-grain crackers. Shhh. We won't tell anyone it's really for you. :)
