Hungry? The Disneyland Resort in Anaheim is a amusement park for diners, offering up more than 50 different Disneyland restaurants, some of them posh sit-down eateries from America’s hottest chefs.

To avoid the crowds at your favorite Disneyland restaurant, especially during peak holiday and summer hours, Disneyland recommends that you plan your meals on off-hours between 11 a.m. and noon, 2-4 p.m. or after 8 p.m. There are also several restaurants near Disneyland if you want to travel outside the park.

Don't forget — Disneyland pass holder dining discounts are available inside the Disneyland Park, California Adventure, Disneyland Hotels and Downtown Disney District. Depending on your pass, you'll receive between 10 and 20 percent off restaurants, including the Blue Bayou Disneyland restaurant. A complete breakdown of Disneyland discounts for restaurants in Disneyland is available here.

Want to pack your own picnic? Disneyland asks that you don't bring any food or beverage inside the theme parks, so there is a designated picnic area west of the Disneyland park main entrance.

Dining reservations at Disneyland hotel restaurant locations, Downtown Disney and select park restaurants such as Blue Bayou restaurant in Disneyland are made through a central reservations number at (714) 781-3463.

  • Carnation Cafe: One of my favorite full service restaurants in Disneyland Park, the Carnation Cafe menu includes wonderful salads, croissant sandwiches and other deli fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some standout items on the menu include the Seasonal Pot Pie, Main Street Meatloaf Stack and Croissant Chicken Club. Most are served with potato salad, green salad or fresh fruit. Gourmet coffees are also available for a quick pick-me-up. Don't miss the old-fashioned banana split for dessert!
  • Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor: This old-fashioned ice cream store is simply charming, reminiscent of a turn-of-the-century Victorian parlor. The ice creams are terrific too — with every flavor under the sun.
