Located on the site of an ancient Hawaiian fishing village, Kona Village Resort is an all-inclusive Hawaiian getaway overlooking the lush Kohala coastline.

Set on 82 oceanfront acres dotted with coconut trees and tropical flora, Kona Village offers a totally unique "unplugged" experience with no in-room televisions, radios or telephones to distract you.

Instead, you're encouraged to bask in the beauty of the Hawaiian landscape. Enjoy barefoot walks along the white and black sand beaches while enjoying dozens of ocean activities.

Kona Village hotel is known for its Alaka’I Nalu program, which offers SCUBA diving, snorkeling, kayaking, sailing, paddle boardin, wind surfing and evening stingray adventures aboard their Ribcraft boat.

You can also enjoy complimentary tennis, work out in the fitness center, or unwind with a soothing massage at the Kona Village Resort Spa. Nearby, the Hualalai Golf Club offer a par-72 Hawaiian golf course set among black lava, crashing ocean surf and waving palms.

Each of Kona Village resort's 125 thatched-roof bungalows are inspired by old Polynesia, offering a relaxed island retreat surrounded by sandy paths and tropical flowers such as naupaka, hibiscus and noni.

The resort's hales, inspired by ancient Tahitian, Marquesan, Hawaiian and Samoan styles, are set among black lava cliffs, ancient fishing lagoons, and along the ocean. Kona Village Map.

Inside, each room boasts oversize bathrooms, ceiling fans, walk-in shower, soaking tub and private lanai (some with whirlpool tubs outside). Rooms also include stocked refrigerators, coffee makers, and 100-percent Kona coffee.

This Hawaiian green hotel has been an eco-resort for more than 40 years — long before it was trendy — complete with dried coconuts for your "Do Not Disturb" sign. Each hale also uses recycled coconut fronds for its thatching.

During your stay, you'll enjoy three daily oceanfront meals, historical tours around the resort, ocean sports activities and children's keiki programs (excluding weeks in May and September). Meals are served at Kona Village's two oceanfront dining rooms, Hale Moana, and Hale Samoa.

On Tuesdays, the resort hosts its “Paniolo” Night featuring a Hawaiian cowboy-themed dinner. If you're craving a Mai Tai or Lava Flow, take your pick of Shipwreck Bar, Talk Story Bar and the Bora Bora Bar, which is open until 10 p.m., complete with live entertainment.

Just don't leave without attending their Kona Village Luau, considered one of the most authentic Hawaiian luaus on the island. The Kona Village Resort luau (‘aha‘aina) is held twice weekly, complete with dinner and a show of Hawaiian music, chants and dances. Seating for the Kona Village luau is at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday and Friday evenings.
