Yosemite National Park is now in full swing, with most park lodging and services open for the summer season.
In Tuolumne Meadows, you can take your pick from White Wolf Lodge (offering up 24 canvas tent cabins — complete with freshly-dressed beds, wood-burning stoves and some private baths) or Tuolumne Meadows Lodge (with 69 wood-framed tent cabins furnished with beds, linens, candles and wood-burning stoves).
Although you can certainly pack your own picnic, there are plenty of good eats in the area. The
White Wolf Lodge Dining Room (209-372-8416) serves up breakfast and dinner, and the
Tuolumne Meadows Grill (209-372-8413) offers hearty breakfasts and dinners in its river-front dining tent. A small convenience store is located on-site for snacks and drinks.
Perched at 8,775 feet, Tuolumne Meadows sits on the largest sub-alpine meadow of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Services include a gas station, post office, stable and grocery store. The Tuolumne Meadows Sport Shop and the Yosemite Mountaineering School offer several guided programs and outdoors-related gear.
